Is it possible for a employer to Cancel the I-485 application after the termination of employee? This is for one of my friend who is on EAD filed 485 15 months back. He is still looking for a job.

The employer cannot cancel the I-485. This application belongs to the immigrant. However, the employer can cancel the I-140. This application belongs to the employer.
 
The employer cannot cancel I-485 application. But they can request to cancel I-140 application (they do it very rarely). Please correct me if I am wrong. However, if 180 days have passes after filing I-485 your friend is safe
