Some documents say England and others say Great Britan and United Kingdom. Which one is correct. Same goes for the question - who did we fight in the Revolutionary war?

The US became independent from Great Britain. Great Britain was created from the merger of England and Wales and Scotland in 1707.

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland was created in 1800 by the Act of Union.

I stand corrected (partially). Check out the link for details:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_britain

However, the English monarch and parliament pulled the strings. Scotland, Wales & Ireland were under the subjugation of England. Therefore, as the published answer to the test questions notes, you would answer "England" to the question.

Someone should give USCIS a history lesson!

The Treaty of Paris was between the Kingdom of Great Britain and the United States of America.

The Declaration of Independence refered specifically to the King of Great Britain.

Or if you want to just repeat what the answer in the official questionnaire -- Great Britain.

I have a feeling, however, whether you say UK, United Kingdom, Great Britain, or England ... the IO will take your answer as correct ;)

Good luck

just try to ask someone who has taken a interview lately ,if they got the question about the present supreme court justice!!!
the answer in uscis database is definitely not john roberts jr! ;)
