Apology for using dispiriting words.
I have been pushing my lawyer to get more insight into my case.
She told me yesterday that my case might have been transferred to local(Milwaukee) office.
It happened on April 03.
But I have never got any notification from Nebraska or Milwaukee about this. Also my AVM and BCIS has never been updated.

Now its been more than 5 months and I don’t know whats going on?

My question is,

Do we get any notice from Nebraska or local office if case gets transferred to local office?
How anyone would know if case is in local office?

Dear friends, please share your thoughts.

knshah ,
we all can understand u'r frustration.
Here is my friend'd exp, his RD is in Aug,01
My friend's case was transfered to local office about 4 months back, but local office does not have his file yet. If he calls the
BCIS they repeat that they have transferd the case to local office.
Seems like an endless loop.Local office people say they will get it before 6 months after the case is transfered.
For what ever worth you can go and talk to local office people
you never know it might help
Goodluck

Hi Double_Jeopardy,

Did your friend ever get any notification?

In my case, When I call BCIS they still say the case is being woked on. They dont tell me that the case has been transferred to local office.

Can other people also share there experience??

thanks,
Knshah

So what does your lawyer say about this? When you are paying good money to your lawyer, why are you relying on these forums for answers to critical situations like these? The least the lawyer can do is to inquire through the AILA liaison at NSC and advise you on the best way forward.

Sankrityayan,

I must admit that my lawyer is not quite competent. Their office condones phone calls and I get a hackneyed reply from them – “BCIS is processing Aug 22nd cases and yours is November..”

I am phrasing my question once more,

Do you always get notification from NSC when your case gets transferred to local office??

I couldn’t get the satisfactory answer for this question from my lawyer, so that’s why I am throwing it here..

Of-course, they send you a notification. They send notifications even when they screw up and transfer applications to the national records center in Missourie.

The key issue here is if the application got really transferred to Milwaukee or is your lawyer just fibbing about the transfer. How did they come to know of your transfer if they are unwilling to inquire about cases that are filed after Aug. 22, 2003?

knshah:

Normally, they do send a "transfer notice" and the online status does reflect that fact. It might take a while for the file to physically get to the local office but the notice is sent by NSC promptly. However, as we all know, BCIS doesn't always act in a manner that we would consider normal. However, from the wording of your post ("... might have been transferred ..." --- meaning your lawyer has not received a transfer notice from BCIS), I am inclined to believe that your case has not been transferred yet. I am not sure if the transfer notice goes to the lawyer or to the applicant.

knshah,
My case got transferred to the local office on Aug 12 2003, and I saw the change in the online status on the 13th, and within a week after that, I received a notification about the transfer for both me and my wife.

My understanding is any change in the staus of your case requires NSC to post a notice to you about it.
