How do we know whether I485 application is employment based or refugee etc................

Cuz 16% to 20% of I- 485 applications are approved till last week of March 2002 notice date . I checked randomly for different dates that are filed on Jan '02 , Feb'02 and March '02.

If you follow on rupnet very few cases approved for Jan,Feb,Mar 2002 ND.

Average applications filed on the dates i checked was 800 /day.

march02485info, Great Job!!

Did you get your Java to work?

Yes, that is a big big mystery(to your questions on this thread).
I have talked to one well known attorney and he was also totally amazed to hear this randomly approved Jan/Feb and March cases.
He himself wanted to run the query and do analysis (or get confused!) on his own.

As for me, I assume either there is some way to expedite process that we are not aware of. Like restaurant workers and food
specialties' etc(I have mentioned many times) applications are pulled faster. Refugees comes next since their date is 8/22/01 for processing date but inside INS they may get better priority, who knows.

I have seen some days without a single I-485 recorded and some
days bunch of I-485s approved and the next day zero activity!!
so everything is totally random.

if you have those record of your run, please share and post here.
I have done some posting with those data also....

That's what BCIS reports

as cases being processed belonging to that date for refugees also. Those are my theory regarding randomness.

Ghee-

I will post the results soon for the dates i checked 02-142 has got 19% and 02 124 got 17.6% and i'm busy with .... so will post all the results from Jan to Mar for the dates i did analysis. MOreover I had confirmed from my lawyer that cases was approved for JAN 2002 and April Cases ( 2 from their clients oneon derivative basis ) as my atttorney looked at their clients info and told that it might ( I guess so and it's not a one to one ratio on days to count ) 2-3 months from now for a case filed with ND on last week of March....

cool! so attorney confirmed that.

That's encouraging! Again, it is still hard to definitely say why one or two cases are picked at random. But if it is a
-- regular EB
-- non derivative
-- non NIW or special cases
-- India/China and not Great Britain!

Then, we can say, " there is some movement on our front."
