Hello Gilbert-

I have an interview next week for adjustment of status based on my citizen daughter's petition (family based). My current status is that of an asylee (have not filed for adjustment of status based on asylum). I will be travelling overseas the day after the interview. My visa's are on a travel document but I will be getting my national passport stamped after the interview. My question is whether I need to come back in through customs with my travel document or my valid national passport with the green card stamp (in order to avoid secondary inspection for travel document holders and 1-94 stamping). Your help is appreciated. Thanks.

If your stamp is in a national passport, then you will have to show the ICE your passport to prove your LPR status, right?

Also, if the adjustment case is not completed on the interview day for any reason (usually because something is missing from the file and the officer says that they will mail you the decision), then you MUST have advance parole authorization BEFORE leaving the country. Otherwise they will consider your adjustment application abandoned.

Good luck.
