Question for Ciba and other experts - any idea how the FAX Inquiry process works

Hi Ciba and other experts
    My I -485 application has been pending for more than 9 months now. A few weeks back my lawyer had
    sent a FAX Inquiry on the case. I am interested in knowing how this process works. How long does it
    take for INS to respond and what type of answer can I expect? Talked to IIO a few times about my case but did not
    get any useful information.

    My details are:
    Listed as Sriram Aravas under Ciba\'s list
    Center: CSC center
    EB-2 RIR
    PD 09/99
    I-485 ND 10/2000
    FP done 02/01
    Waiting ever since..........
