Question for CChong or anyone else

Hello CChong-

I remember a while back you posted something about contacting a government official to expedite your RTD. I have a family wedding to attend in the UK in June and I have been waiting for my RTD since late november. According to the new processing updates, the RTD processing dates have not moved for about a month and I am running out of time. Please let me know how I would go about contacting a government official to try and get my RTD approved.

Also any other ideas from anyone else would be greatly appreciated. Has anyone else recieved a RTD in the last couple of weeks or so? If so, please post info (date of application etc).
Thanks.

hatari999,

I wrote three of my congress persons a letter and requested an assistence from them. I did not receive any responses from my two senators, but I was lucky that the house of representive member assisted me.

I explained to the congress persons about my situation and sent a copy of my receipt letter and a copy of my air ticket.

The whole thing is depend on the willingness of your congress members.

You can find out who yare our congress members on the below URL.

Since you live in California, Senator Dianne Feinstein is one of those you should contact.

BTW, I also wrote a letter to the director at the NSC twice. No response from either of the expedite request. I think you can try to write him an expedite request letter as well. You have nothing to lose.

Good luck to you.

Just for your record. I just received a phone call from Senator Charles Schumer office regarding my assistence request.

Even though I have come back from my trip and the call was long outstanding, but I am glad that someone finally took action. The call gives me some hope back.

Thank you CChong. The latest processing reports show a slight move in the processing. I am hoping they have begun processing RTD's again after a month long hiatus. Thanks again for your reply.

hatari999,

In your previous email, you mentioned that you applied for your RTD in November. The NSC processing report shows a processing date of Nov. 3. I don't know what is your actual receipt date.

One thing to keep in mind, you should also consider the time frame for applying for your travel visa.

The processing time for a UK visa is the same day processing (depending on where you are applying). Recently, I mailed in my UK visa application, the process took 5 business days excluding mailing time. I didn't have the option to apply in-person. My suggestion is do not mail in your visa applcation if you have an option.

God luck to you hatari999.

Hi CChong-

I applied in late November and my application was recieved on December 10. The November 3 date has been there for over a month now with the latest report (May 1) having a date of November 5...just 2 days in over a month. Anyhow, I have no option but to wait. Per your advice, I sent a letter to the director at the Nebraska Service Center. Don't know if he will even read it but nothing ventured nothing gained right?

As for the british visa, if necessary, I am willing to drive to Los Angeles and get it in person. Thanks for your support and replies. Very much appreciated.
