After you have EAD and AP approval and you get laid off, what needs to be done Exercise EAD as the status if one is not able to get a new H-1B

Hi helper,

Whenever somebody says "use EAD to find a job," it means that
telling the new employer that you have work authorization to
legally work in this country. After you are hired, the HR
department will ask you to fill out a form called I-9 which
you have to present two separate docuemnts for verification:

(1) your identity (usually passport is sufficient);

(2) work authorization (in this case, your EAD card).

Once you complete the I-9 form, you are on EAD status.

No, it begins from the approval date of EAD. Anyway, the expire time is also on the EAD card.
