Question about the Personal Check !

OK, After talking to my Hubby, reviewing the Letter to the Stranger in Indiana and my 1st Personal Check to them I think the Mistake was on my part.
I have to say that I have always written my Checks this way and never had a Problem until I think now.

I wrote on the Check $400.00 and then Fourhundred ----------- 100/100. Which yes I can see them thinking I send them $401.00 but then again I never written my Checks any other way and never had a Problem with it.

So today I wrote my Check this way ..
$400 and then Fourhundred -------- 00/00.

You think they will send it back to me again or will it slide this time IF it was the Problem the first time.

If it is not to personal how do you write your check ?

You should put 00/100 instead of 00/00. In any case, I don't seea problem be a problem with the 00/00. If you haven't send the check go ahead and put 00/100 to b safe.

Thanks. I already sent the Check out earlier :o with it saying 00/00. I just hope it will go through. If not I just hope that I receive it back and not some stranger again, lol.
But I can see why they think it is $401.00 when I wrote 100/100 but then again never had any problems with anyone in almost 6 years !

Please keep your fingers crossed for me please !

How about writing "Four Hundred Even" or whatever(just use "Even" if the amount has no fractional part) going forward?

Well, I just raced to the UPS Store and ask if they still had my Envelope. They did so we opened it and I wrote 00/100 .. so hopefully this is ok.

Well, it is strange that you had no problems with 100/100. The fraction represents cents. Denominator is always 100 - there are 100 cents in a dollar. Numerator is whatever number of cents you are paying. Therefore, 00/100 = 0 cents, 100/100 = 100 cents, or $1.

USCIS was absolutely correct in returning your application for incorrect payment. Of course, it would be nice of them to send it to the correct address. But, I guess, it is too much to ask.

Good luck with your naturalization journey.
