Question about student visa and taking a break

I am a new student who came on F1 visa in this fall. I have multiple entry visa which is valid till D/S (3 Years). I want to take a break for spring and summer semester and go back to my home country. I have following questions:

1. Would I need a new visa when I come back in Fall 2003?
2. I was told that I would need new I-20 if the break is more than 5 months. What impact would it have on my visa?
3. What complications might be there when I will come back after break of 8 months?

Any responses would be appreciated.

Check with the school's international students advisor. I dont think you have any issues in being out of the country. The previous visa should still be valid until the expiration date.
