Guys,

I have a simple and silly question. My wife and I are waiting for our I485 approval. My wife has been working upon her own H-1B visa. Now she wants to quit and be a housewife for a while. Here is the question:

If she quit, what will be her valid legal status? Not H-1B any more. Should me do something to change her visa status? Then change to what? Our I485 approval is on the horizon (Aug\'01 filers).

Thanks for your time and kindly response.

She is fine

Your wife can quit any time after AOS as long as you are the primary applicant. Once entered AOS stage, it is not required to maintain H-1 status. If she wants to change job, then she will need EAD, otherwise just quit.

No problem, you are both PR pending and can work on EAD card and definitely can stay here.
