Question about period of I-131 validity

I am confused about validity of re-entry permit. Here is the scenario:

1. In the application form, I mention "Date of Intended Departure" to be September 06, 2008.

2. The instructions mention that a Re-entry Permit issued to a permanent resident shall be valid for two years from the date of issuance. So lets say that the re-entry permit gets issued to me and sent to New Delhi consulate on November 26, 2008.

In such a case, is the re-entry permit valid from 09/06/2008 - 09/06/2010, or is it valid from 11/26/2008-11/26/2010?

The 2-year validity period will start on the approval date (Nov. 26 in your example), so overall you end up being able to stay abroad for 2 years + some number of months.
