Question about Passport Stamping

Hi everybody,

I'm one of the December filers and still waiting for my GC . In the case when I get it and go for stamping , do the passports have to be valid and for how long?
My wife's passports will end in 5 months time . Please advise .Thanks in advance.

For atleast 6 months

It should be valid for atleast 6 months.

Renew the passport.

Renew the passport. It takes no more than 3 working days (use Fedex priority) to get it renewed in the Indian Consulate in San Francisco. (one day to send it, one day they take to work on it and 3rd day you receive it.) Personally I have had wonderful experience with the Consulate.

u need to have a validity of atleast a year.

I'm going to renew it , it takes 6 - 8 weeks though in our Consolate.
