Question about our I-131 filing

Hi guys,

I am starting to get that sick feeling in my stomach thinking we screwed up sending the I-131. We sent the application for I-131 reentry permit to the NSC office. I noticed we could have sent it to the Seattle office local to us here? On the uscis website, it says I-131 processing time at NSC is still July. However, the Seattle office shows 3 months to process....MUCH faster.

We sent the I-131 the first week of November expecting to have it by February. (Since we looked up processing times for Seattle which said 3 months). At this point, we haven't even gotten an appointment for biometrics in the mail.

Any advice? I know we can leave the country and have them send the permit to the US consulate in the country you will be visiting. Should we cancel the NSC application and reapply with the Seattle office?

You CAN'T leave the country without the I-131 being approved. You need to wait until it is approved before you leave the country, otherwise your AOS will be deemed abandoned.

You should have sent the I-131 to the NBC. At Lee's Summit, MO.
