I just have a quick question ... when do they usually update the online status ? Morning, Afternoon or at night or any time during the day ... not really a specific time ... just curious ...

TIA !

Here is what I found at the USCIS FAQ:

How often is the case status information on this site updated?
The case status information on this site is updated regularly throughout the business day. If any action is taken regarding your case, the change will be reflected on this site within a few minutes of the action-taking place.

Here is the link(read the 5th bullet)

I have setup online track option.Does it actually email you when they set up your interview?

No. Not really. I have setup my portfolio to send me an e-mail whenever the status changes but so far I have not received a single e-mail. So e-mail notification is not reliable. Keep checking on-line status once in a while and don't rely on the e-mails.

hi master usa

thanks for the timeline. what is your district office? did i read it right, you and your wife sent application at the same time, yet the FP dates are different and you have interview date and she is still waiting?

thanks for insight.

Weird as might sound, but that is correct. I was 2 months behind my wife in getting receipt notice and FP but my IV is scheduled for 12/4 and we still waiting for my wife's IV letter.

that is weird, but again the USCIS is not known for its predictability!

anyhow, what district office has jurisdiction of your papers. i was just wondering if I can use your timeline to guesstimate mine which is in philadelphia.

thanks again master usa!

You are absolutely correct on the predictability of USCIS. They seem to be working on the motto "If you can't serve them confuse them"(them meaning the applicants) :)

My DO is Albany,NY. Forget about guesstimating your timeline for your own DO let alone from another DO. You have a better chance of picking up the right numbers for the Power Ball lotto than estimate your timeline based on another persons timeline. :)

Anyway good luck with your case.

master usa, you've spoken like the true immigrant who has had it with USCIS (which is most of us). let's hope our dealings with these people end soon and end well.

thanks and best of luck!
