Question about namecheck timing

Hi Guys,

I have a question regarding namecheck. I was wondering when do they start the namecheck process, Is it right after my fingerprint or does it have any correlation with my I-140.

I have applied for I485, and I140 concurrently, I am curious to know if they wait till the approval of I140, (which is retrogressed by 10 motnths), or do they initiate the namecheck right away.

How would you know when your namecheck is initiated.

I got two responses from FBI on my letteres to First Lady and our Congressman.

Typically they will initiate it immediately after you file for your I-485. Immediately after *typically* means a few weeks.
There have been exceptions, though. There was this one guy whose NC was initiated after 4 months.

You mean that the NC would be independent of approval of I140, In my case I have done my finger print but from what I see my I-140 would be considered in the next 7-10 months.

Yes, AFAIK, NC is independent of 140 approval. It should already have been initiated, judging by your signature.
