I am in Canada on a W1 Work Visa. My company has a branch in the USA. I am an Indian Passport holder. Can I get an L1 Visa (company transfer) to work in the USA?

YES... provided you have work for 6 mo to 1 year with your company before entering US

Thank you. Is there any URL where these rules are explained? I searched the Canadian consulate's pages, but there it's not mentioned whether L1 can only be applied for a company transfer from your citizenship country, or if it can be applied from a country where you are on a work permit. I have been working in Canada for more than 1 year, so I do qualify accoding to the one year rule. But my not being a Perm Resident or Citizen, that's what makes me confused as to my eligibility. Thanks again for your reply.
