ok lets say my spouse doesn't met the income level required for her to sponsor me financially and my brother who is a NATURALIZED citizen serves as a joint sponsor as far as the affidavit of support is concerned.. would that slow down the processing speed that I receive my documents?

It's not slowing it down. Whether she is filling it herself, with your brother's joint sponsorship, or if both of you combine your income. As long as the Affidavit meets the PG no matter whose means were used to reach the income level. You can have as many sposnosrs as you want. It's not necessary the joint sposnor to be realted even. It might be a friend

hI..AS I READ BAOVE ABOUT JOINT SPONSOR..I HAVE A QUESTION..MY FIANCE IS A U.S. CITIZEN BUT HE DOESN'T START WORKING UNTIL JULY..I AM ON F-1 IF WE GET MARRIED NOW AND HE SPONSORS ME VISA...CAN I BE JJOINT SPONSOR (I AM CURRENTLY WORKING). AS HE CAN'T SHOW ANY FINANCIAL HELP TILL JULY..IS IT POSSIBLE?

THANK YOU

yes RANE2202 you can sponsor yourself if you have been married and living in the same household for 6 months, just go ahead and fill out I-864A

HI Gatorlink..thank you for your reply.I want to be clear, we will get married soon.. we don't live together...So when we get married, is it still possible that i am joint sponsor and is it has to be only after 6 months we live together(married). I am just confused.Right now my fiance doen't have any job. He wil start working from July and he doen't have any W-2's from previous as he was in medical school. so when we get married and he files for my PR Can i show all the support?

thank you

to sponsor yourself you must use I-864A which requires you and your spouse to live in the same household for at least 6 months. If you want to file now you will need a joint sponsor (not yourself). Or you can get married now hold off on filing the paperwork until july when your hubby will have a letter of employment which should easily meet the requirement of a 2 person household
