I have a FP appointment at 9am at Glenmont,MD. Can I go to the center earlier than that so that I can complete the FP and get back to work? How long does the FP take at Glenmont?

-g

I'm not sure about going there early, but my FP took about 45-50 minutes (which included the English/Civics test) from my scheduled time (which is also the time I reached there.) Doesn't hurt to go early and try, although not sure what time they open in the morning.

FP appointment DOES NOT includes the ENglish / Civics test. you might be confused with the citizenship interview.

ocworker,

When I went for FP, I took the English test (the lady asked me to read a sentence and write one as well.) Also, I was offered to take the civics test - 10 questions and got all correct :) And they gave me a letter that I cleared both the tests to be given to the officer at the time of interview. I suppose not all centers offer the test while FPing - yours may be one of them.

I see. it is something new and first time I heard about that.
what if someone did not pass the civics and english test? on your FP appointment, did it mention anything about the test?

thanks for your reply. :)

p.s. i am thinking do you need to take the same english / civics test again during your interview ? i hope not.

It is just an option if you want to take the test at the time of FP (or to postpone it when interviewed.) I guess, if you fail, you would have to appear again at the time of interview, otherwise you don't.

Please clarify regarding Civics test

Vic, You had mentioned about taking the English and Civics tests during your FP appointment at Glenmont center. I have a question regarding the Civics test. Was it oral or written test (multiple choice format or just list of questions)?

My FP appointment is scheduled for this Wednesday.

Madabushi.

The civics test was a written test - 10 multiple choice questions. The English test was oral - She had asked me to repeat a sentence she said. If you have prepared from their standard 100 questions, you should be fine. Good luck.
