Hi all,

I've got a quick question regarding fingerprints for the n400 application. I just got mine done this morning, but I noticed that the lady taking my fingerprints was having a hard time getting a reading from one of my thumbs and kind of gave up at the end. Should I be concerned? Is their a place I could call to check whether they were good?

Thanks

You can call FBI to check the status of your FP processing. They will not tell you more than that (processed or pending). Search the forums (or google) for FBI FP check number.
Concerned ? Here's how it works. If your FP is bad the first time, they will call you a second time. If the 2nd FP is bad, they will ask you to get a police certification from all cities you lived in during the past 5 years. It is wise to chase them to check status. However, do not over do it, maybe once in two weeks.
Once you find the FBI number ... FBI usually clears the FP within a day or 2, you do not need to wait 2 weeks to call them.

Like mentioned in the previous post, FBI will have to approve your fingerprints. If at all the fingerprint is not clear, the FBI will reject it and u will have to go in for another fingerprinting session. U need not pay extra fee for it. If it gets rejected for the second time also, then you will be instructed to get certification from your local police where u have resided for the past years.
