Question about biometrics

So we're waiting for the biometrics letter for my wife to adjust her status. I just have a few questions about it.

Will she have to go to a particular location at particular date and time to get fingerprinted, or do they give options about where to go such as different service centers so we can go somewhere closer.

Also, after we get the biometrics letter, can she get fingerprinted before her appointment date or would we have to wait. I think I saw something about that on this forum but wanted to make sure. Thanks.

No options, they will give her a date and place, and a time. She must show up.

Some people have been able to get their biometrics done ahead of time.
