Hi, It just came to my mind to ask if for biometrics appointment my husband needs to go with me, he has to travel outside the U.S. very soon, now we got concerned about getting biometrics appointment (if everything is ok...) and he not been with me. Thanks.

Why does he have to go with you?

If your getting printed, only you need to go :) Biometrics is a cakewalk, you walk in, they take your pic, electronically fingerprint you, pat you on your ass and send you on your way. Aiiiight? :)

What REALLY HAPPENS at BIOMETRICS

You may want him with you because....
What REALLY HAPPENS at BIOMETRICS

When you walk up to the door there is a thick heavy black Curtain blocking any light or visability from the "outside world"

As soon as you walk through the curtain and door you enter a cold room lit only by infrared Red lighting. You notice only Large men all named "SMITH" in black suits and dark sunglasses, then when you are getting ready to scan the room again & a very abbrasive big individual "Agent Smith" suddenly comes up to you and throws a blind fold over your eyes & bag over your head, escorting you into a cold long tunnel.

As you walk down this tunnel you hear faint echos of screaming and heavy breathing, the air is cold, damp and earie. As you approach the end of the tunnel you hear this sudden loud CLANG! of a steal door, you notice all the faint screaming that you heard before has stoppd and turned into a sputtering whimper. Next thing you know you are tossed into a cold steal chair strapped down from your neck to your ankles.

Your heart races, then you hear mumbled whispers and another voice enters the room. the sound of metal clanging startles you more as they GRAB your hand & inspect your fingers with meticulous grunts of approval ,taking your fingers one by one & placing them in what feels like warm body fluid. Your hands are placed on a cold surface with this warm fluid ooozing in between your fingers and then, your blindfold is removed & suddenly there is a BRIGHT Blinding Flash of light! Next thing you know ..you wake up (if your fortunate enough in Wyoming) or Delaware  lost & confused with wet drawers not knowing your name.

Disclaimer: majority of cases go smoothly without fear or worry The above is only hearsay none of the events could be proven, however the numerous missing persons out of ASC ending up in Delaware with amnesthia have boggled the public mind for years,

just kidding :) as someitguy said it is a cake walk, you wont need anyone wit you be sure you have proper ID if your Picture ID has different name than the name used for filing your paperwork (say you filed your I-485 with your new married name, but your passport has your maiden name on it) then bring proof of name change (marriage liscense)

I had my FPs done on Friday. Took 15 mins, no problem. There is absolutely no need for anyone to go with you. Everyone needs to stop having this fear of dealing with the USCIS. Addie's post aside (which is true only 10% of the time) getting your fps is less invasive that getting a licence and shorter too. Y'all need to relax, the USCIS boogeyman is not hiding around the corner waiting to pounce.

Unlike someitguy I didn't get the pat on the ass, which is too bad cuz the girl who took my fps was a cutie. :p

As an aside, they also took my picture. I didn't know that. What is that picture for, isn't that what we send in the photos with the application for? Since I didn't know about it, I showed up looking like I just crawled from underneath a rock; unshaved, hair tossed all over the place, huge bags under my eyes...looks like mug shot.

That's a disaster in waiting. ;) :D ..Seriously, that picture shot is the one that comes on the EAD card ( I-766).The photos you sent previously are strictly for record.
Luckily they take different photos for Driving license...time to get a trimmer :D ..

maybe that cutie didn't go for you because of that. forget her, shallow person. yes, didn't know about the photo and i had a white shirt. wasn't a problem, but completely didn't know about it.

and while we are it, i asked how long it was going to take and they said it wasn't going to take long. but when it came to the name check, i said that people wait like two years. she said that some wait even longer. i grew up here, so i don't think i will wait that long.

EAD or GC. I couldn't care less about an EAD card, which I will probably never used. But if it's on the GC, well then I'll look like I just escaped from jail for the next 10 years.

Actually my licence picture looks terrific. I get comments about it all the time, I'm like the guy who has a good licence picture in the country.
