Hi members,

I have my interview coming up next week and I realized i may have made a mistake. I am soliciting your opinions about disclosing some information pertaining to an arrest.

I was stopped by an officer and was ticketed with driving with a suspended license, i did't know about this suspension as i moved and never received anything in the mail from DMV etc etc the usual excuse,,

I went to court and hired an attorney, the attorney was not prepared well and the case was adjourned. before my new date i traveled outside the country and missed the court date. 1 week after i returned, i was knocked off my bicycle and the ambulance and police came for help, the police officer informed me there's a warrant for my arrest, and came 2 days later to arrest me from my house. I was arrested and fingerprinted and taken to court, saw a judge, told him my circumstances, gave me a new court date. When i went to my court date the judge reduced the sentence and i plead guilty and i pad a fine and surcharge.

I mention on my N-400 application the charge and the disposition.

The question: when i meet the interview officer, should i mentioned that i was arrested because i failed to appear in court the first time ????? or does the charge and disposition i already put down in the form suffice ?????????

Please answer..

Yes it's indeed ironic Mumbasa guy !

I understand your explanation. I know that it isnt a big issue. But my concern was how to list these incidents.

Ive only had one legal problem ever: VTL 511 unlicenced operation of motor vehicle. But here's a chronology of events:

- police stopped me and cited me, gave me a ticket that must be answered in court
-went to court with lawyer
-case adjourned, given new date
-i traveled out, missed court date.
-apparently bench warrant issued
-police found me and arrested me, sent me to court, judge gave me new date.
- judge convicted me of infraction, i paid 200 fine.

On N-400 have you ever been charged or arrested etc etc should i put down:

1- VTL 511

or

1- VTL 511
2- Failure to appear in court

I am confused because both incidents pertain to the same charge, but im afraid that if i dont list the arrest theyll think im hiding it.

.. ?
