Hi

I didn't see this question on this forum.

I plan to mail the N-400 to USCIS. When does the 90 day count begin - is it the date of postmark on the envelope or is it the day they receive it? If it is the day they receive it, then I can mail the envelope say 93 days before eligibility assuming that they receive it say 4 days later which makes it 89 days before eligibility...........

Has the 90 day stuff been defined definitively?

thanks

The date follows when they receive it.
Assuming you are sending via ordinary mail (say two days to arrival) - you can send it two days in advance.

Are'nt we all pathetic here. Calculating how much time it takes to arrive in mail just so that we gain another day or so.

BTW, I did the same....

Yalag

I was also doing the countdown, but I let my application go for 1 year and 3 months, had it all ready to be mailed - just had to put in envelope and send, however I define the meaning of procrastination and by the time I got to send it off, the fees had increased and I had to get new pictures too. Now I can't wait for the process to be over. :D

If you want to hurry up then wait, then go ahead, mail your application now. I'll advise you to wait until your time is up then apply. You'll be better off. CIS is just looking for excuses to delay your file.
