Question about AOS interview

The interview letter says :" Every adult ( over 18 years of age ) who comes to the interview must bring Government-issued photo identitication, such as a driver's license or ID card in order to enter the building and to verify his/her identity at the time of the interview".

My question : if I bring a learner's permit to my interview,will it be accepted as an ID ?

Why can't you just bring your passport, they're going to see it anyway and take your I94

Well, I know I brought my learner's permit to open a bank account, the guy didn't except it because it's just paper (Massachusetts) so I had to show him my Mass ID.
