Question About Advance Parole

Dear Friends:
I applied for my I-485, through VSC, more than two years ago. Currently I am working on EAD. I applied for my 3rd EAD on Nov 19th. As of now I didn't get my EAD. However, I went to district office and obtained an interim EAD.
I never applied for the Advance Parole before. I need to visit outside US soon. If I apply to VSC for an AP it could take 3 to 5 months for approval. Is it possible to go to district office to obtain an (emergency) AP directly from them? Or is it same like EAD that first someone has to apply for AP to Service Center, and if VSC couldn't approve in reasonable time you could get one from the district office with a valid reason. Is there any quick way to get an AP?
Any information or suggestion would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

Getting an iEAD is much much easy compared to the Emergency AP... For AP you need to prove INS that the reasons fro travel and these reasons need to be very strong reasons.. not like "I just want to travel...."

also if your travel is related to the company work, then you can ask company to contact local congressman, that may help... otherwise it is very difficult task...

I tried a lot for the AP since I had to travel on business, including contacting the local Congressman's office. My company did contact the Congressman and I too did on my own, but nothing helped. My Company had to send another consultant instead of me because of this problem.
Unless there is a real Medical / Death (God forbid) emergency, your chances of getting an EAP are very remote.
Of course, it all depends on the officer you get and how considerate they are. You may be lucky.
Good Luck.

Thanks for your valuable input. I will try to visit Delaware Application Support Center (ASC) this week and will find their requirement. Meanwhile if anybody has any other experience or input please let me know. Thanks.

We found out this morning my wife's grandfather is in serious condition outside the USA. Is there a way to get AP w/o having to wait 60 days? How do you 'provide proof' of the sickness of the relative?
