Hi all,

My I140 was filed in USCIS, CA back in May 2002 which was transfer to Vermont office. However, we have receipt # starting with WAC###.

Should we receive another receipt # from Vermont office? Please advise.

Thanks for your responses in advance..

Pyare,

Why and when was it transferred - please spare few more words for a reasonable answer.
Hi Jharkhandi,

My attorney filed I140 with USCIS, CA as company's head office is in CA. However, I work in East coast. I guess this may be the reason to transfer my case.

I do not know when it was transferred but I got response to my inquiry that it has been transferred and we should contact Vermont office for further details.

On line update shows case received here for processing (May 2002). Nothing has changed since then. Other than response to inquiry, we do not have any transfer notice for I140.

This is why I asked. Does receiving office (transferred case) provide a new receipt #? I am sure that my application is lost and have no way to find out what to do next?

Thanks for your response,

In this kind of situations - sometimes new case number is provided, sometimes not! Your best bet would be to ask your lawyer to find status of your case.
