Query regarding tourist visa USA

Hi Team,

Currently F1 has been expired however, the legal status of the same has been maintained and we have i20 valid until August 2026. So my question is will this impact the tourist visa interview scheduled ?

What are the chances of getting the visa approved in this case if;
1. Parents are sponsoring the trip themselves?
2. Parents are not sponsoring the trip themselves?

Regarding

Your question is not clear. is it the parents of the F1 student who are wanting a tourist visa? If so, the expiry date on the F1 visa doesn’t have any relevance.
They will be assessed on the basis of their own ties to home.

Yes, parents ( my husband is sponsoring) and relatives ( self sponsoring) of F1 visa wants to visit USA for a tourism purpose and have applied for a tourist visa. They will be staying with us. In DS 160 form we have mentioned our details like address and contact information. So, does visa officer will look at my husband’s visa as well as we have given our details in DS 160 as there was a question about any person you know in USA.

Also, could you please share the invitation letter to invite if the person is self sponsoring the trip?

Thanks and appreciate your response again on the same.

They don’t bother looking at invitation letters. They decide based on the applicants’ ties to their home country. They would be able to see that you have maintained status with USCIS but that’s not likely to be a major factor in the decision anyway.

Thank you for your response again. One more question while filling the DS 160 form it says if employed in India we have to fill the salary like (0-9) how one should write.
Thanks

I’m not sure what you mean 0-9. I helped fill out a family member’s B visa app recently and I just recall entering the local currency amount per month.

DS 160 says “ monthly salary in local currency “ if employed. And when I tried entering it says you should write between 0-9 so here I did not get how to write.
Also, monthly salary in local currency means in INR.

Do you have a screenshot short of that particular page where you filled the salary in local currency?

Thanks

Yes, local currency would be INR for India. I don’t have a screenshot. by 0-9 do they mean you should just put numbers in? I don’t recall anything tricky about how to fill in any of the boxes.

To me it seems like you might have tried entering something like INR12345 (I am just using monthly salary figure of 12345 as an example) and the message tells you that you should only use numerical values from 0 to 9.
So you need to just enter 12345
No INR before that or comma (,) between the figures.

Sure , I get it. If someone’s monthly income is suppose 40 k so one should write 40000? Did you mean that?

Hi All,
Have a query regarding B2 visa

I have paid the US visa fee back in April 20,2024 for my group applicants but got an appointment after April 20, 2025. The visa fee is valid for 1 year from the date of submission, so is it mandatory to get the early date on and before April 20,2025?
If I don’t want early date then my already scheduled interview after April 20, 2025 is still be valid even when the visa fee for the same will be expired in April 2025? Will there be any issue with respect to the fee when the interview will happen after April 20, 2025?
