Queries on L2 to H1 Transfer

Hi,

I have an EAD (Yet to start working though) and iam on L2 here in USA,Now my H1 is approved effective from Oct 1st 2007,

Queries are,

1. whats going to be my status H1 or L2 from oct 1st ? (by default)
2. Can i continue to use EAD ?
3. If i dont get Job thru H1 how long can i stay in US with no job ? or i can continue to stay as L2 holder..

2. No. Your EAD is based on your previous status (L-2).
3. Change back your status to L-2 by filing I-539. H-1B is approved based on a specific employment. If the employment doesn't exist for any reason, you become out of status.
