I am going to work for an American law firm\'s foreign office in two months. We have been permenant residents for almost two and half years. Do I have to file N-470 to retain the residency status? If not, what steps do I need to take to keep the residency and be able to apply for citizenship? If my wife does not work anymore while in the foreign country, will she be able to keep her residency and be able to apply for citizenship?
