Hi Gurus
I had a Q pertaining to eligibility for someone who had to be outside the USA for more than 6 months (9months) due to the health emergency.
It's actually for my senior parents who would be intending to apply the end of this year since they would be completing 4yrs 9 months.
The Question is that almost every year they have been going to home country for vacation and family obligations but never more than 6 months except once when they had to stay back for an emergency operation and recuperation thereafter. They have never taken the travel advance parole to stay longer than 6 months

Would it stop them from being considered for naturalization? would there be any consideration to their age *(80+ and 70+ respectively)
if anyone can post their experiences or advice, it would be a big help.
thanks
JG

You have to elaborate on your parent's stays outside the US, bcs to apply for naturalization, the law is very clear when it comes to residency requirements and by what you are saying, they have stayed outside more than they have lived here....

And have you read the Guide to Naturalization ???
http://www.uscis.gov/files/article/M-476.pdf

It is very important that you read it..... especially pages 18 thru 24
