Hi, has anyone got prevailing wage decision from Maryland? I submitted my request on early of May, hasn't got any response yet. Another question, should I receive a receipt after I fax my prevailing wage request? Thanks in advance.

I am also in the same boat. Applied for PWD in May and waiting. Let me know once you receive anything and I will do the same.

I filed my PWD from Maryland on June 2nd. As yet (June 27th), there is no response. :(

An update...

I got an email from my lawyer yesterday - on June 29, 2005:

Verbatim: "The date of the MD SWA's PWR processing time is on April 29, 2005."

That sucks, a delay - 2 months - even at the SWA level. Yuck!

Does anyone know the telephone number of the SWA so that I may contact them?

Thanks,

This really sucks, the bottleneck is now again at the PWR, when is this gonna end.

Reply from MD SWA

I finally got around to sending an email to the MD SWA asking them the status of my PWD request.

The reply is below:
"Our office is processing prevailing wage requests received the first week of
June 2005. Please consult the US business sponsoring your work visa or
permanent residency or the attorney acting on behalf of the attorney in
obtaining the labor certification."

Suddenly in a matter of 10 days the processing at the MD SWA changed from April 29, 2005 to June 1st week, 2005. I have a sinking feeling that my lawyer lied (Why am i not surprised?)to me or this reply is incorrect or miraculously it jumped this more than a month over a long weekend.

I will update as soon as I get some more news.

Thanks,

How can that be, my company applied for PWD on May 23rd and we still haven't heard anything. Its all one big ghutala....

Contact them

Hi Arrow007,

Why don't you contact the MD SWA and ask them about the status?

The email is ymilam@dllr.state.md.us

Please post the reply you get. At least, there will be some confirmation if they really are processing PWD's from the first week of June 2005.

Thanks,

Received but unknown

My prevailing wage determination was requested on June 02, 2005 from the state of Maryland. It was received July 08, 2005.

Hence total processing time = 37 days

But I do *NOT* know what it is. Unfortunately, my lawyer forwarded my PWD to the HR department of my company and they are refusing to divulge the information to me. Can someone tell me if they can do this? They say it is "company policy". ( Me, snickering in the background ). Until the last week of May, they did not know the meaning of a PWD.

Can someone suggest a few words of wisdom? Is there anything I can do to get this information and not resort to finding this information out by other means?

Thanks,
-msh626
