I am a Manager in my company, and a Director position has opened up. I am on H1-B, with 485 pending since May 2006 and 140 approved since August 2006. My question is:
1. Can I apply for the Director position? Even though it is at a higher salary level, it is with the same (my current) employer?
2. If the senior management decides to promote me to the Director's position, is it a problem then?
