processing time for follow-to-join

I am going to be filing concurrently for I-140/485. I am suppose to be getting married soon and my attorney has suggested that I can file for follow to join if I get married after filing for I140-485. Are there any drawbacks for filing follow-to-join (in terms of processing). Will my spouse have to wait longer to get her gc.
 
If your wife gets H4 visa to join u in USA, then you can file for I-485 for her too as long as your I-485 is not approved. But say if your wife did not get teh visa to come to USA, then you can file "follow to Join". Follow to join nomrally takes longer time to get processed.

2 years for my spouse

I got married after filing for my 485. I filed her 485 about 6 months after mine. My GC was approved 6 months later. Her case followed its own track independent of mine. It took us 2 years and a letter to the congressman to get her interview scheduled.
