Processing statistics for April'04 released - Things are getting better!

Highlights: (Since Sept 01)

1. I-485 processed is 101474 which is double the average of 50703.

2. Net decrease is highest so far within the period computed.

3. Overall pending has been decreasing for the 5th straight month.

What we can look forward to in "May" report and months ahead:

1. The receipt of new applications will decline sharply as people would have rushed to beat the April 30th fee increase deadline.

2. May approval cases from Rupnet and forum posts in other centers like CSC and TSC have been among the highest in recent memory.

3. I expect pending applications to come close to or dip below the million mark.

Attached is the spreadsheet that I have extended from an earlier posting.

Are all 101474 approved?

USCIS may also reject lot more cases just to reduce the backlogs, so I would really believe that our situation is getting better if the % of rejection stays the same as that of a year ago and only the % of Approvals. Please notice that I have used % and not actual number of rejections.

If the % of rejection has significantly increased, then this maybe be a bad news instead of good news for us.

They processed 101474 AOS cases in 04/04; best since 09/01.
Also biggest reduction of backlogs (36827) since 09/01.
Great news!

Just Because of Law Suite

All this movement is just because of law suite.

Thanks Rajiv and all the guys who worked hard for the community

Rsur,
The statistics you collected and posted shows progress towards reducing backlogs. Good effort from you to keep our morale up. But still I do not see a salvation date closeby.

Rsur,
Question: Each month nearly 50 K applications are being added..., how many of these could be employment based..., I suspect between 1000 - 2000 per service center so at most 10 K per month. what is your opinion??

General:
If 80% of the GC applicants are not employment based..., what is the probability that these GC approved people would be Degree Holders??? What is the probability that these GC approved people would look for $8 jobs, which are less than 32 hrs per week?? (Even if necessary companies do not employ for more than 31 hrs per week. one should work minimum 32 hrs per week in order to be eligible for benifits).

I am guessing the number of EB-based apps should be higher than 50% of all 485 apps.
