i don't know from where to start a process for gc as my wife has a gc and i am on h1b visa. can anybody help me out what are the forms i have to submit and how to proceed to get my EAD too. please help me out.
your wife has to file I130 (petition for alien relative) with the USCIS for you, whe its approved then you can file I485 to adjust status . CHECK USCIS.GOV
Well, depending on how your wife got her GC and whether you guys are married before she had GC, there are a number of possibilities. In general, if your wife obtained GC after you got married, and she obatined GC in one of the following categories: Employment-based, diversity, adult married son and daughter of citizen, or adult married sibling of citizen, you can get GC through follow-to-join route which you do not have to wait 5+ years. Otherwise she has to file a I-130 for you, and after approval, you have to wait till dates are current to submit I-485 (normally 5+ years). Do some research first, and check with the gurus in family-based immigration board. Of course, if you have a lawyer, always consult with him/her first. Good luck.
