Hi,
I'm currently waiting for GC on EB3 -, I'm on H1B and I got 797 approval during crazy summer of 2007. I have since switched jobs from original sponsor employer and I'm thinking of reapplying on EB2 now that I can use my 10 years experience instead of masters.
Priority date is 2/2005, but I don't want to have to wait another 2-3 years.
I have approached my current employer about it,but they don't have a lot of experience and they would probably hire an outside firm to handle everything.
I have seen other's in my position ( senior engineer ) or lower file as eb2 with Masters, so I think it may be possible.
Let's say I can file as EB2 due to experience and my current job qualifies for that designation:
- what can I expect from PERM process in terms of cost ( estimate ) and time.
- what requirements is DOL looking for in job title/salary ?
- if I reapply in EB2 do I lose my 'place in line' from current EB3 filing ?
