Hi

I am a us citizen, and i have married to a woman who have is not an resident or citizen of usa.

We are planning to get her a green card. however, i heard that the procedure for the green card application for my wife is different when living oversea compare to living locally in usa.

can anyone share the step by step procedure when doing the green card appliaction for my wife aboard.

we are living in HONG KONG

thanks.

Yes, it's different. When she's outside the U.S., you file I-130, and then once it's approved, she goes through Consular Processing at the U.S. consulate where she lives. If you are also living abroad, depending on your consulate, you might be eligible to do Direct Consular Filing, which is faster.
