How to get the Only name check based police certificates? Because Only name check based police certificates are required for US immigration. I believe the above link is for fingerprint based one.
Please advise..

Getting Canadian PCC

While some people have reported success with name based certificates, it is widely believed (esp. in light of recent events) that finger print based certificates are desirable. Look up the following link for detailed information on how to obtain Canadian PCCs:

Anybody is applying for finger print based Canadian PCC now? Help needed!

I am a Canadian citizen living in US in the process for GC application. I sent my finger-print form to RCMP in Ottawa on Nov 19th through Express mail. I have been sending email to RCMP checking my status, was told that, as Dec 28, my file hasn\'t show up in their database yet, and they asked me to check the letter delivery status. When I called USPS, they couldn\'t confirm the letter\'s status, maybe because there is nobody in RCMP to sign the delivery letter.

Is anybody in the some boat out there? Should I be worried? I know it is a Holiday season and things moving slower in Canada.

Hi,
I sent my case on 12/26/01 thru Fedex and it reached on 12/27. It is recieved by a person called Ernest at RCMP.
Could you please tell me the RCMP email address to check the status?

Thank you

email address of RCMP

It is civilnps@rcmp-grc.gc.ca, wait 2-3 business days for reply.
> >In order to verify the status of your application they need the following information (for all applicants) :
> >
> >1-full name
> >2-date of birth
> >3-purpose for which the police clearance is needed
> >4-date the documents were mailed (or date received if sent by courrier)
> >5- if fee was included

Please let me know if your case is on their database. If yours is there, I\'ll consider my file is lost in the mail, and I have to re-send them.

Thanks.

Finger print-based only required for former residents

I just received my Packet 3 yesterday. It states that only "former residents of Canada" require fingerprint-based certificates. Current residents of Canada can get by with just a name-based one.

Received PCC from Canada

I sent my application for PCC on Nov 5 by normail mail and I got the PCC on Dec 23. Around Dec 10, I sent mail requesting the status and they had mine in the database. If you happened to send your PCC with your spouce PCC together, there are chaces that they have the other in the database. I think it happed in my case. They were able to track my wife\'s PCC and they dint reply to my email request for PCC .Hope this helps. Best of Luck.
