Our FP was scheduled for 11/06/01, we went to the Buena Park and did it today ahead of schedule, but the quality is not good and has 4 "bridge breaks". Is there any problems with this?

During the process, there are 4 "bridge break" and the person who took my FP called the technician to check it out. The technician came and checked it out and she said that prints are not good and it is something to do with our prints and nothing to do with machine and they may issue FP redo again to check it again.

My question is:
1) Did anyone has this kind of problem, did they get another FP notice.
2) At the end of the FP process they gave me the work sheet back and I got that with me is this normal.

Did anybody experience similar situation?

I have seen earlier post but it does not give much information.

Thanks in advance.

Bvguru,

I had similar experience, I got Bridge Break but the guy who was doing the finger printing kept trying until he got the "Pass" signal, is this similar to your experience, did the INS agent repeat the finger printing for that particular finger until it passed or he/she just kept going regardless of the warning "Bridge Break"?

My info is as follows:

RD 04/16/01
ND 06/04/01
WAC-01-202-xxxxx
EAD approved on 07/18/01 but not rec\'d
AP received
FP done 10/09/01 scheduled on 10/30/01

he did everything once and it showed pass but later Technician came and he told they were not that clear.

my theory:

First, I guess that it\'s ridge break, not bridge break and it means that the print was not completely inside the rectangle where it should be. It happened to me with one finger and she just retried.

Second, if they said that it may be something wrong with your prints, I guess this has nothing to do with the ridge break, it just means that your prints were not clear enough. Not being in the required area on the screen and not being clear enough are totally different issues. Maybe you had something on your hands or maybe you washed your hands too much before (I don\'t know about this, it may be stupid, I\'m just trying) or maybe you didn\'t used enough of that cream they give you before taking your fingerprints.

Probably they took away your FP notice, but if you kept a copy of the FP notice you may be able to try again with the copy, without waiting for INS to ask you for a redo. I don\'t know if doing FP two times for the same notice is a good or bad idea, it\'s your call. Anyway, if you want to do it, as long as you have a copy it\'s doable. I know this because I did my FP with a copy (I went ahead of schedule and I decided that it\'s good to keep the original notice so that if something goes wrong I\'ll be able to do it again on schedule with the original).

SmallNothing\'s suggestion is excellent. Everyone should
make a copy of finger print notice for a possible second
try in the event that the first one fails.

It is too late for you to ask the technician to do your
finger print again, vguru. If you have a copy, try going
to a different ASC.

As for the work sheet. I am not positively sure, but I
remember I did get the work sheet back (as a "receipt" of
some sort) The date you filled in there were entered into
the computer system by the technician. Don\'t worry about
this. A clear finger print result is more important at
the moment.

ciba,
Do you think I should immediately go to other ASC and redo the finger print instead of waiting for other notice, I have copy of FP notice and I used the one from attorney so I should get mine in couple of days. But when the person took the prints it showed pass everywhere. But when technician came in the last she said that it is not very clear and you may have to redo stuff.

vguru,

Don\'t go immediately. Wait for a few days and check with
FBI first before you jump into anything. It is possible
that the results are acceptable. Only FBI can determine
whether the quality of your FP is good or not. The words
from techinians at ASC do not count.

Ciba,

Do you think FBI will tell if the prints were cleared and the quality of your FP is good.

I have a small bruise on my right index finger that might impact the FP. Do you think I should wait for it to heal before going for an early FP?

Ciba,

I just called FBI the officer said they received and sent them to INS. I asked him about the quality of prints he said that INS told them not to tell anything on it and he told I need to check that with INS.

What is next do you think it is good idea to go to INS personally and talk to IIO to check the quality of prints.

Thanks,
