problem with tax return ...plz help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

iam out os states for alomst 8 months now and planning to go back soon
but i have a problem .........
i was trying my tax return before i go back , but i have worked suring 2010
so my total return is 0 ,so my tax file couldnot be filed online becoz its 0$
what should i do ? ,,,becoz i read that i must file my tax return becoz it affects
my admission decision at the port of entry ..................................is that true ?!?!

should i send tax forms to IRS by mail ,and they will register me that i filed the tax
although its 0$ ...or becoz its 0 so i shouldnt send anything ?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!
 
but they said on uscis.gov that fails to file tax return is one of the points that considered abondement of residency !!!!!!
so it counts on u if u fail to file tax return while u outsude US

That is not entirely true. They don't ask for tax returns at the port of entry ... but if one has spent an extended time overseas and is sent to an immigration judge because of it, it will be necessary to present evidence of maintaining ties to the US, and filing US tax returns while overseas is one piece of that evidence.

However, if this 8-month trip is medococo's only long trip, being sent to an immigration judge is very unlikely. But the officer at the POE may give a warning, and enter the warning into the system, so the next long trip in the near future could result in being sent to a judge.

You said you worked during 2010, so your gross income is not zero, even if your tax amount is zero.
 
oh sorry ..i meant i have not worked ........what if my 8 months trip extended to be 10 months ...will the status be the same
that i will pass , keep my GC , and just get a warning ..or it will be different ? .........thank u Jackolantern
