Problem with passport date stamps - Interview coming up

I have my first i-485 interview coming up and need some advice...

The departure date from MY country, stamped on my passport is the 4th, the entry stamp to the USA, on both my passport and my i-94, is the 3rd. I'm certain I entered the USA on the 4th.

I've consulted with an attorney and they "suggested" that I save the i-94, lose the passport, and apply for a new one. I did try to do this but the consul said that I first had to report it stolen to the Police.

I'm not sure what to do. Any suggestions? Might this be an issue at the interview?

Lose the passport? Don't be ridiculous. That one day difference won't affect anything, unless you have some unusual circumstance where the 3rd or 4th has special significance. Is there anything particularly special about that date, or are you just worried about the 1-day difference?

Note that if you crossed the international date line, it is possible to depart one country on the 4th and enter the US on the 3rd. Were you traveling from Australia, New Zealand, Asia, or Pacific Islands west of Hawaii, crossing the Pacific ocean to land in the US?

I was travelling form Argentina to Los Angeles, with a stop in Costa Rica... Maybe it was just an oversight by customs. I'm not sure.

Thanks!
