Hi there.
The asylee filed for citizensheep the same time the derivative asylees (his wife and his son) filed I-485 to adjust their status. The asylee became a citizen before the processing of his wife and son's I-485s would end. The derivative asylees received letters from USCIS telling them that since the asylee became a citizen, they are no longer to adjust their status based on being derivative asylees. The USCIS wants them to file Form I-589, Application for Asylum, on their own.
Has anyone had this problem? What should we do? Please advise!
