I have a problem. I landed in March of this year and left to US the next day. However after a month, got a letter saying that my spouse's pphotograph is incorrect and that she has to appear.

Has anybody been in a similar situation ? what are my options ? Does she have to get a visitor visa to canada or does she have to apply for extension ?
Also, can she call the canadian office and tell them that she actually left the country before getting the card and now dont have a way to get back !

Thanks for any info.

Hi Krishna,
if you are in the U.S., do not worry, you can travel by road without a P.R. card anytime.
If you want to fly or use any other form of commercial transport, just apply for a temporary travel document for your wife from Buffalo,
the process is very simple.
If you are outside U.S., you have to apply for a temp travel document from the relevant visa issuing post.
It takes only a week to get this document from Buffalo, however if your wife goes for the photos,
she might be asked to come again and collect the card, so if possible,
make arrangements for your wife to stay in Canada for at least 3 weeks,
it should not take longer than that.
Hope this helps.
You can also write to them asking for a postponement, citing your job or can call the P.R. office in Canada.
This cannot be done from outside Canada.
Ask any friend in Canada to conference you threeway.

You can travel to Canada from USA or other country without PR Card and with your landing papers...only via private transportation ..meaning either your car/rental car/your own boat/your own plane/your own motorbike or what ever..You can't take commercial carrier like plane/bus/train...

Thanks LongestLabor and mayankdave.
What if I rent a car and drive across the border. Also can I just go to WIndsor or should I got to Toronto. We were called to Toronto office.

My choices then are either :
1. Take my car across the border
2. Apply for Travel Document if I want to take commercial bus/train/plane

In choice 1, will there be a problem with taking my car. I was told when I was immigrating first time that I have to import it next time when I get my car.

Thanks
