In response to my letter to Michael Graham (Boston Radio Host) regarding legal immigration issues, below is the content of the reply from him/his staff.

If it makes any sense to the IV folks, they can use this opportunity to discuss legal immigration issues with the action figures and senior political figures who are going to be present at the rally (Sorry for the short notice). I do not have access to IV site from work (???), just wanted to share my thoughts here with everyone:

*****************************************************
For weeks, we've been watching illegal aliens and their advocates marching in the streets of America's major cities. Protesting by waving the flags of foreign nations on our soil and demanding that we, Americans, abandon our laws and our borders.

As the great divide and debate takes place in the House and the Senate
this week, we will not sit idle unable to voice our opinions.

Join us on Thursday, April 6th, for a Town Hall Meeting: Defend America's Borders

Gardner Auditorium, Massachusetts State House from 3 to 5 PM. Sponsored
by State Representative Marie Parente and to be broadcast live during
the Michael Graham Program on 96.9 FM TALK, WTKK.

This is an opportunity to discuss legalized immigration, border-security
laws and how as a nation we realistically deal with the estimated 11 million illegal aliens now living in the United States. The politicians have heard from those who violate our borders. This is a declaration: American majority speaking out to demand secure borders and the rule of law.

Please tell your friends, neighbors and all concerned citizens about
this event. Also, in a united effort to showcase the principles of justice and the sacrifice of blood shed by patriots on behalf of our nation, please wear a red or blue shirt.

It was a town hall meeting and i heard the proceedings on the radio. The important part was that they had Congressman Tancredo joining via phone and he said this bill will not work in the house.

Ofcourse we dont know what the effect of all this is but I am now wondering that if the illegals get some sort of legal documentation then it will help reduce the EB based retrogression. If not than we, the EB folks, remain in retrogression limbo ? If this legislation does not go thru the house would there still be any improvement in EB GC process ? Any thoughts ?

Well, not sure how things will shape up in the house, but the way the nation seems to be divided between the illegal and legal immigration, at least it is not focussing on immigration vs. no-immigration reforms for now.

If the citizens pick up this anti-illegal immigration wave big time, then house "might" trim or scrap the reforms for illegal immigration, but, it "may" show some leniency towards legal immigration since almost majority of the house committee members recognize the issues with legal immigration and are willing to work on that.

I am quite optimistic that we should see some major legal immigration reforms this year. Let's see how it plays out in the end anyway.
