All,
I am in a fix.I have 2 more years on my H1 and I have applied for GC ( non perm ) with priority date of oct 2003.
I know my case was shipped to backlog center ,but the attorneys havent recvd 45 day letter so far. They say there are 130,000 pending cases needing data entry into the systems in backlog centers.

I am contractor working for a client.

My client wants me to change the contracting company since my current company is being pulled out of their list of vendors.

Please advise ...if it is wise for me to change contracting company and reapply my GC via PERM.

18 months to go on H1B - Employer change

All,
I have until April 2007 on my H1B. I have a non perm labor with a priority date of Oct 2003 from state of NY for which I havent received the 45 day letter yet.

I have a job offer from a client whom I work for currently and the client is willing to Hire me as of March 2006.

This hiring is mandatory .I have to accept it or quit the client.

Now assuming I take up this job as on April 01,2006 which would leave me with one year on my H1.

The client cannot get me sevent year extension since he wouldnt be able to file for my perm labor before 365 days of my six year completion.

However can the client use my existing labor from my current employer and apply for my sevent year extension.

Also is this possible in case the labor is pending or it is approved.

Please advise on how best to proceed.
