Priority Date - Does that matter even for April 2002 filers ?

Can someone explain what the priority date is ?

I never cared about it because I understood that it was current.

Can they retrogress so much that even April 2002 filers get affected ? I am EB2 so that probably helps.

priority date is the date u filed ur labour (eb3,eb1) not sure about eb1 they dont have to get labour certification
