Priority Date current, laid off, 7th year extension possible?

Hi,

My PD is going to be current next month.
I still have about an year on my H1.
If i join another company now, would i be able to extend my H1 for the 7th year based on the previous company\'s LC/140? I heard somebody telling me that i can\'t extend if my PD is current.

Is it true? What options do i have now?

First of all you need to get your H1-B back to life i.e extended or getting transfered to the new employee then think about I-140 and etc.

In my best guess, H1-B extension has nothing to do with I-140 and Priority date. Both are totally seperate and processed by totally seperate INS entities too.
