Priority Date and Receipt Date for I-485

Just filed my I-485 a few days ago. But confused about the priority date and receipt date. Will VSC work on PD or RD? I'm in EB-2, so I don't think the visa retro will affect me. Will visa retro be based on PD or RD? What is the use of PD in the stage of I-485? My PD is June 2000 (no mistake).

If the visa numbers retrogress for EB-2 they will go by your priority date. The date I-140 was received by the state. There will be no visa numbers avaiable for those after the priority cut-off date.
Since EB-2 is current you will look at the receive date:thats the date your particular service center is processing.
