Primary not renewing EAD can secondary renew?

Hello all,
I am the primary for applying for 485. I am currently on H1B visa and my wife is on H4 visa. My H1B visa is still valid for another 2 years so actually I do not need EAD. Last year we both had applied for EAD and had got it that was our first EAD.
My wife is working on EAD so she definitely needs to renew her EAD, now if I as primary do not apply for renew and only my wife applies will that work or that is not allowed?

Please someone advice, what are the documents that she will need to provide USCIS?

Derivative can renew EAD without primary applicant renewing. USCIS specifies that it better be applied within 4 months to the expiry of the current EAD. For paper filing, you need, 2 current pictures, copy of I-485 receipt, Copy of current EAD and check for $340.
